How we will use apps in the future and why gamification will tie it all together.
With the rise of 5G and the move to all app payment and even identification we are headed towards a future where apps are queen!
We are already seeing a move to combine Banking, Social, Training and Lifestyle and even Leisure apps in one. Soon all of that information will be put under one main account we each have (my prediction) and then the glue that will keep everything working well together will be Gamification.
Gamification is not just making something feel like a game, but it is using game-based design and mechanics to reach a specific goal in our digital products. This means every time you pay your bills, pay off a loan or buy something from your list app you will get instant feedback!

As we can see, there is a natural and steady move towards “app-only” and managing the chaos of notifications will be much easier to handle if there are notifications, challenges, rewards and even achievements to help you be engaged in all apps. Why pay with your phone, because it goes straight through your banking app and it gives you more points to gather towards a loyalty program!
After the global pandemic, companies moved to develop not only online first, but app first and we must adjust accordingly. If we want to be at the forefront of helping users engage more and keep track of their apps we must invest in gamification!
